Description

If you have some experience of energy efficiency projects already, this course will build your knowledge to give you a bigger picture of domestic retrofit. The course is designed to improve the employability of learners as well as lay a foundation for higher-level training. Employers are increasingly seeking staff who understand the fundamentals of retrofitting our homes.

The Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit is a flexible course, with tutor support, that you can study at your own pace. The course contains six modules, which take 30 hours to complete, you'll also spend 30 hours carrying out practical tasks in our workshop. Once enrolled you will have a 12-week window to finish the programme.

Entry criteria

19+, Hampshire or Surrey based, and an initial interview will be carried out.

Learning & method assessment

You will be sitting a multiple choice exam.

The 1-hour exam will take place on the same day, shortly after the workshop. The workshop and exam will be available at our training centre on different dates.

User skills

Learners will gain an understanding of what domestic retrofit is, what it is supposed to achieve, what you need to know when working in the industry, and what to look out for when installing energy efficiency measures in homes.
